NEW LEGISLATION
The new Flexible Working Arrangements Bill has been introduced to Parliament and is a bill to make further changes to the Employment Relations Act.
The new Bill proposes to set up a process for handling requests from employers with flexible working arrangements. Employees will have the right to ask and have that request listened to and responded to. The Bill proposes that it applies to people who have been employed for six months and creates a positive onus on employers to try to accommodate requests for employees for flexible hours.
